Mental Health for Scientists
verantwortlich: Christin Schwiebert

!This course is offered by the Graduate Academy!

Currently, we have to deal with many extreme situations. Be it the consequences of Corona, the Ukraine war, or the climate and energy crisis. Both global and personal issues occupy and influence our professional and private lives. Mental well-being and mental health are increasingly in the spot light.

In this half-day course, we will focus on our mental health. The goal is to train and expand participants' knowledge and resilience. There will be input on stress and how anxiety, depression, burnout, and bore-out, as well as anger and helplessness, are triggered. We learn about symptoms and warning signs that indicate stress overload and mental health issues. We will identify situations in which we have exceeded our capacity to perform and cope. From this, we will pinpoint dysfunctional mindsets and beliefs that we associate with professional and personal performance. Finally, we will develop strategies for maintaining good mental health and being more mindful of our surroundings and ourselves.
